Well, I'd call that a solid performance.

Yea, that's another solid start. We know he's better, but 3 runs in 5 2/3 is pretty much his worst level of play.

6th   M Cairo singled to left, J Votto and J Bruce scored.

Nationals  7
Redlegs    3

Crap.  One more out and SS would have another Quality Start.
97 pitches, 63 strikes.  The fans in the infield applauded him on his exit, the rest booed.

I expect more out of him. I think we all do. But I'm definitely happy we have a 7-3 lead right now.

The only thing I "fear" is we keep sittin' on him and he'll bolt to pitch more innings as soon as he gets a chance.   $150M plus  and free reign (Yankees) will be hard to match.

When opposing fans boo, they're showing their jealousy.

I'm pretty sure we won't be limiting his innings by the time he is eligible for FA.

As odd as this may sounds, but I think the long time off in between the Nats scoring a bundle of runs and coming out for the 6th, probably threw him off a bit.  I think the same thing happened in the Indians game.  Combine that with the mugginess (is that a word) and the Reds good line-up 8)

This doesn't begin to make any sense.  His innings will get bumped to 180-190 at least for next year.

He'll remember that instead of ruining his arm they did what responsible organizations do and built up his endurance the right way.

LOL have you never heard of the Joba Rules?  Now known as the Phil Hughes Rules?  Every young pitcher knows they're going to be held back a bit their first year.
