Tonight's Nationals-Diamondbacks game scheduled to begin at 7:05 p.m. at RFK Stadium in Washington, D.C., has been postponed due to rain. The game will be made up at 1:05 p.m. on Saturday, September 2, 2006 as part of a split day-night doubleheader at RFK Stadium. Game times on Saturday will be 1:05 p.m. (Friday's rescheduled game) and 7:05 p.m. (regularly-scheduled contest). Split day-night doubleheaders entail separate admission for each of the two games.
Fans holding tickets and/or parking receipts for tonight's contest vs. Arizona are asked to keep both, as they will be honored at tomorrow's 1:05 p.m. contest at RFK Stadium. Tickets for tonight's rainout can also be exchanged at the Nationals Ticket Office for any of the 17 home dates remaining on the Nationals' 2006 schedule, based on availability. Fans holding tickets for tonight's game also have the option of exchanging those tickets for comparably-priced tickets to any 2007 regular-season contest, excluding Opening Day. The Nationals' 2007 schedule has yet to be announced.
Left-handed pitcher Billy Traber (3-3, 7.14 ERA) will start tomorrow's afternoon contest for Washington, while righthander Jason Bergmann (0-1, 6.64) will get the nod in 7:05 p.m. game. Arizona will counter with righthander Miguel Batista (10-5, 4.46 ERA) at 1:05 p.m. tomorrow, and former National right-handed pitcher Livan Hernandez (10-11, 5.27) will start the 7:05 p.m. contest for the Diamondbacks.
This is just the Nationals' second rainout at RFK Stadium since the franchise relocated from Montreal following the 2004 season.
