Base hit.

I think FR yanked Patterson too early.  And now that Stanton's coming on, I get worried.  Why do I worry?  Because I'm a Nationals fan.

Why Stanton? Give the chief a freakin' SVO.

Well you get your wish...but not until after Stanton gives up a base hit. Two on, nobody out.  Joy.

See, that's the nice thing about already BEING in first place...it's yours to lose.  Worst case, we're still #1 come tomorrow.

I'm gonna watch too.

And what a nice thing it is to be able to watch that game without a desperate knot in your stomach, praying for a loss.  Now I can relax a bit, knowing that hey, even if they win, they haven't gained.

Maybe they subconsciously think all those posts tired the team last night and tonight they are spending more time reading than posting... lol

I'll tell you that, for my part, last night was a mentally exhausting and depressing experience. (So bad I was cranky and shouty with my girlfriend on the phone afterwards...try explaining to your gf that you're in a crappy mood because your baseball team dropped a big game, and see how far it gets you...)

Qoute of the year esoteric.  Excellent.  You and I sound too much alike.

Just joined the forum here.  Great effort by Patterson, and it looks like the revamped lineup provided a nice boost.

Now it's El Presidente's turn tomorrow!

Heh.  We do share a similarly bleak pessmistic tone when our boys are out falling on their faces, that's for sure.

Thankfully, today there will be no grumbling to the girlfriend.
