I'm going to the College World Series tonight, so I won't be watching until I get home late tonight.

See what I can do.  I know the head grounds keeper, so I could probably finagle something.

I hope Morgan isn't starting tonight. What on earth has he done to deserve this long of a leash?

He is starting.

Ladson just posted his tweet, with the starting lineup. Same one I posted.

Alberto Gonzalez making his 3rd straight start for #Nats tonight. He went 0-for-5 with 4 Ks in the first two.

I'll need your cell number so I can call you once per day to remind you of this.

Sorry to do this and its basically pointless to bring this up but I just had to respond to what theChief said yesterday about my comments. I was never comparing Heyward to Desmond because they are two different players. All I was comparing is that both Heyward and Desmond started to fade these past 2 weeks. Because they are slumping, I never understood the whole point of taking out Desmond when his replacment is far worse than him. Let the kid play and let him grow from his mistakes. And to mention that by himself Desmond is throwing the season away is beyond me. Yes he mad a major mistake yesterday but if Morgan, who is the vet., made the right decision yesterday it might be a 3 run game instead of a 5. Just my two cents...

As for today Im hoping Stemmen does out perform Lowe, my only concern might be Guzman. If he starts crying about hitting that low we might have 3 Will Nieves in the end of the order. I like Berndina batting 2 and with if Morgan and Bernie can get on base they both can cause some havoc. But lets just see what goes down.

Morgan will not get benched any time soon. He's Rizzo's pet project, and so his leash is longer than most people's. Hey, he "hustles" and brings "high energy" to the rest of the team right?

I guess we just have different opinions on what constitutes a slump.  Desmond has been underperforming Cristian Guzman by about 30 points in both average and OBP all season, and people around here absolutely CRUCIFY Guzman for his batting.  Toss in the 40 error pace and I can't see how playing him up here so he can "learn" is doing anything but conceding the season to "let the kids play."

I asked Ben that very question over on MASN, and he said he believes the team won't sit Morgan because they're worried that they might lose him mentally if he gets benched.

Riggleman wants an extra lefty bat against Lowe and a proven bat in reserve against Billy Wagner. Is my guess.

Then Morgan has some growing up to do... Sometimes I feel like his mental age is around five.

can they at least drop him in the lineup, I know he's fast, but at a certain point OBP does matter for a leadoff hitter

Just imagine what his OBP would be if you subtracted his pickoffs/CS from his hits.
