Nats lineup:

Morgan
Guzman
Zimmerman
Dunn
Willingham
Bernadina
Desmond
Nieves
Lannan

:lmao:

Same lineup as yesterday, just with the offensive cancer in there as well. Riggleman hates Morse and Kennedy.

He said yesterday that he wants a stable starting "seven or eight" with a slight platoon in right. Morse will not get starts.

So while Guzman continues to be ice cold, he'll get every start while Kennedy never gets another shot. Awesome!

This makes sense. We've been so hot on offense, why change things up?

OK.  Then someone has to make sure he's not extended because his utility has run out.  He does not have everyday players at every position.  He's Don Zimmer, 1978, with less talent.

McLaren and Riggleman have been around Morse since the 2007 season. I'd hope they have a pretty good idea about his potential. Kennedy should be playing ahead of Guzman.

what a shock.  a fellow who can't hit righties is cold because he gets string of starts against. . .  righties.

He has had 5 starts in a row against righties.  Scherzer, Verlander, Bonderman, Floyd, and Peavy.  He has gotten 4 hits in that time.  One was against a lefty reliever, two others were "weak groundballs" per B-R game logs, and yesterday was a bunt.  In fairness, he also had a walk against Scherzer.  So, in 19 PAs v. RHP (Matt :az: Thornton also got him), he got on 4 times, 3 times on weak contact or bunts.

In the past 2 days, in 7 PAs vs. righties, he has not seen a 3 pitch in any at bats.  That avoids strikeouts  , but does not let RZ or the others behind him see many pitches or make the opposing starter work.

I am a bit agnostic  :rites: about Morse.  I think I'd like to see him in against LHP, either subbing for Bernie in right or giving Morgan or Dunn a day off.  I completely agree about Kennedy. I'm guessing that, when you look at that 20-15 record, Kennedy had most of the starts v. RHP.

"I feel like we just have to keep running our guys out there," he said. "I don't think there are some options. You always look to give a guy a day off. We are trying to establish our seven or eight guys. We platoon a little bit in right field. I believe in our guys and they are going to get some pitches and start driving them. Hopefully we have some men on base when we do it."

He was around Desmond every day in September and kept him on the bench. He's Manny 2.0

I hate being right about this stupid ass team. No offense whatsoever. freaking pitiful. I called a long time ago. These hacks can't hit for crap.

It's the offense that has killed us the most. Oh well, season over. We are back to being a laughingstock.

For those going today: I guess we all know about the weather (rain/thundershower threat downgraded to 10% in most recent Capital Weather Gang).

Red Line Metrorail riders - work still going on (may want to leave now in fact - http://www.wmata.com/about_metro/news/PressReleaseDetail.cfm?ReleaseID=4519).

In the first 35 Games (May 13), Kennedy started 26 times and came in as a sub 7 times.  He was .258 / .343 / .376 at that time. Over the next 14 games (May 28), Kennedy had 5 starts and 8 substitute appearance, and maintained his // line (.258 / .338 / .369). Over the next 20 games, he's appeared 13 times, with only 5 starts, 3 in Cleveland after he had had an extended benching.

Essentially, he became cold once Riggs began his Guzzie v. RHP obsession, not before, and the team turned cold right around the same time.

Then played LR. What team officials say in the media has little, if nothing, to do with reality. Right now, the Nats might be better served with dumping Wooly and calling up Pete Orr.

Wooly doesn't even have trade value at this point. He'll get non-tendered anyway, might as well DFA - Orr is at least replacement level.

If we don't get our crap together, we won't hit 65 wins. If we don't win atleast 70 games this year after our solid start and having Strasburg, then it'll have been a failure.

I assume the team will have a win streak at some point - 5 or 6 games. Just hold on at .500 other wise and theyll be fine.
