Excluding Sunday's win we've been outscored 36-11 on this road trip.  :-[

I'd like to see our total offensive numbers in games in which Nieves started vs. games in which Pudge started.

hahahaha i don't.  it'll make me throw up.

To threaten the shift, assuming it was on? (not near a tv)

Trade Dunn at the deadline for some quality young starting pitching.

This team desperately needs starting pitching.  There is a huge, gaping chasm between what we have and what we need as far as starting pitching goes.

i agree.  it all starts with starting pitching.  success and failure ... it all depends on your pitching.  look @ the rays.  young core, decent offense ... but some solid starting pitching.

look @ the main reason we've had a terrible road trip ... other than Strasburg's start on Sunday, the rotation was god awful.

Nah, but I was going to quote Nattie20 and say "Definitely not SF" after he said Dunn is our best hitter.

I'm really conflicted on this. Dunn is having a great year and is doing fine at first base. But what if he could land us 2 young, ML-ready starting pitchers (with high ceilings, not a Stammen) and maybe another position prospect? I'd really have to think about it.

Why would you not dump Dunn at the deadline for some decent SP prospects? This season is over. It's about the future at this point.

You'd still have a chance to re-sign him in the off-season.

One, Dunn is undervalued by the league and would not bring back the prospects he's worth.

Two, even if we don't resign him, he'll be Type A and we'll get to draft the guys we want anyways.
