How much RAM do you have and what programs do you use?

4gigs. Honestly, I only use it to VPN and RDP and other basic work functions. You could also use Virtual Box, which is free.

We're trying to get it working for ArcGIS which is a total resource hog.  VMware was like running it on Windows 95.

Hey, neat. I took some classes in GIS a while back but haven't done anything with it professionally yet.

ArcGIS is a beast of a program. Sorry, I don't really have any advice there as I've only used it on Windows desktops.

Bootcamp would probably be your best bet, sounds like you're on the right track.

So, anyone want to help me install XP under Boot Camp or what?

Run boot camp utility and follow the instructions

It's really easy.  Choose how much space, put xp disc in, reboot, install.

Have you got it to work with the XP SP3 image you may or may not have?

"Up to 13 degrees higher?"  So even the old iPad got up to 103 degrees?

iHaters reaching with this one. Wonder if you split off all the iHate from this thread if it would be longer than the Android thread.

Posting from an iPad, hope I don't spontaneuosly combust.

I'm just stirring the pot, but you are rapidly losing your ability to claim impartial status with all the "iHate" and RDFing you've been doing lately ;)

The ring Apple has taken hold of you ;)

I like my Windows 7 machine. Hate my droid charge, but it has some serious issues.

I don't do brand loyalty, just buy what I like.

The inability to charge while playing a game seems more serious and the inability to use it in hot weather

If you say so...  the mod team didn't receive any report...  could it be an error from your overheating iPad? :mg:

I didn't actually read the article as I was just teasing folk, but is it actually incapable of charging?  Or does it simply drain the battery faster than the juice is coming in?  Because my Android phone does that too...  makes using it for GPS on longer trips a bit of a gamble.

We also noticed that the new iPad wasn't charging while the game was running and it was plugged in. In fact, the battery continued to drain. It charged normally, however, when we weren't running a game.

just a throw away line. The hot weather thing seems like the big deal to me since I'm sure a lot of people would like to use them at pools and other such places

That's weird.

Can you even see the screen at a pool?

BTW, I watched a television episode on it last night and the retina screen was dreamy. I wasn't sure the retina screen was worth the price gap between the iPad 2 for some people (actually recommended to my brother to consider the iPad 2) but watching a show on it changed my mind, about the retina display.

I have some trouble seeing my phone at pools/beach due to reflection and glare.
