That is an awesome GIF... I'm hoping it was at least playoff game, for those of us that don't know **** about the NBA?

Thinking of getting an iPad as a bday gift to myself and was wondering if it was worth getting?

I currently have an iPhone, but I'd like a bigger screen for web browsing and movie viewing while I'm not near a computer or tv.

Well, the iPad has a bigger screen.

The retina screen is pretty dreamy, btw.

I know that it has a bigger screen. I guess I should've asked if its worth getting for those reasons alone?

If it's a cool toy and you want it, buy it. Life's too short to sweat the little crap.

Can you install Windows 8 on it?  If not, will it blend like its predecessor?

Funny, I messed with a new iPad at the Verizon store today and noticed exactly that.  I chalked it up to being in 4G mode but perhaps not...

The retina display didn't impress me as much as I expected (and my expectations weren't that high).  I'd much rather have the extra hundred bucks and stick with an iPad 2.

The Google Search app for iPad is pretty awesome. It's basically Chrome + Apps in a nice interface.

But why not torment yourself estimating with the odds that a new IPad will be out in a year without the heat issues ?

I haven't noticed any heat issue with mine, and certainly nothing like my MBP when I'm running OOTP or VM Fusion. I suspect this whole thing is overblown.

Most of the reactions I've seen online are "It's a little warm, it's not hot".

How much RAM do you have and what programs do you use?
