Talking to my Apple buddy, and we agree that the "cult" is over.  Apple just doesn't have that magic feeling anymore now that Master Jobs is gone.  1 Infinite Loop is empty :(

He actually told me that he really likes the look of the Lumia Windows phone

The "cult" is obnoxious, so... who cares?

I just want them to keep pushing the bar with their devices.

Keep pushing the bar?  More like they need to start pushing it again.  And I'm not saying that as a fanboy, I'm being honest.  4S, IP3, and iOS5 were all pretty conservative releases.

Agreed on the obnoxious cult though.

Agreed.  Nothing on iPhone 4S made me want to upgrade to one, and when my iPhone 4 broke, teh 4S just seemed like such a small upgrade, not to mention I wanted to switch to Verizon and since iPhone is only 3G, I wouldn't have been happy with TEH SPEED.

My experience in every Apple store I've been in the past month is wall to wall idiots dropping good money for iPads.

The new iPad had tons of technical improvements.

Agree about the 4S and IOS.

My point was just keep making solid devices and I'm happy. Could give a funk about any cult or CEO presence.

Disagree, but to each their own.

On second thought, "technical", sure...  evolutionary though, not "revolutionary", as Apple likes to say.

Anything white America buys at a mall isn't revolutionary.

Yep, only thing it's really got going for it, and if we're being honest, is that *really* an experience-changer?  Sure it's nice, sure it looks great, but it's not changing anything any time soon.

I'm more interested in the mini ipad rumors and the larger-screen ip5 rumors.

I mean it's nice, but I recommended the iPad 2 to my brother to save some money. He got the 3 anyway, but most people won't notice the differences between the 2 and 3.

I have the 3 but I got it same as cash which they didn't offer on the 2.  Nice of Barclays to let me make some money off of them.

I love my click wheel nano, it's my favorite apple product, but they had to kill it off in favor of some rich screen pos, I hate this constant product churn- when something works well and fills a niche, why make it less functional with each upgrade?
