  • Wow. Such warnings. Very baseball. Moderator Doge.
Uncle. GF out of town on work trip. I feel so bad for her that she missed this epic game.

I would have introduced my self to you but it was crazy and I couldn't get out of my row without going through a bunch of people.
:lmao: You really were with a guy!  I thought he was burning your GF

Yeah, PA, that second pitch to Milledge really caught my eye.  I was like dammit, a ball high, then it dropped like 20" for a strike.  Craziest crap I've ever seen.

one of my favorite posts from SonsofSamHorn:

As nasty as all of his pitches are, the curve really stood out. Over 7 inches of movement both ways, over 82 MPH, and great command. I don't know why he called it a slurve, it is basically a textbook definition of what a pitcher wants a true curve to be. One thing that really stood out on his charts is his pitches are all in really tight clusters, which indicates good command rarely even seen.

His 4 seamer really has a lot of movement too. It actually makes his 1 seamer (variant of a sinker, like a 2 seamer) look pedestrian, it is not pedestrian!
And all that comes from just this:

These batters are freaked.

The second pitch to Milledge will always be the thing I remember the most about the start.

I've never seen a baseball move like that before.

Big debate on BP over whether it's a curve, slider, or "slurve".

Yeah that's right.  It was while the game was still in progress, I remember thinking how funny it was that somebody already had it online.  I'll bet it gets taken down soon if it hasn't been already, though.
