Last night I dreamt that we won this game 20-2, and everyone made jokes about run differentials.

I checked in on last nights game in the 8th inning when we were down 6-2 and I dreamt that when I checked the scores this morning we came back and won like 13-6 and was pissed I missed the epic comeback. I woke up this morning thinking that it was real and was extremely bummed when I saw we actually didn't.

I pulled up a boxscore of a specific game from 2005 that happenned after a losing streak and started what is still the best run in Nationals history. Note who the oppossing pitcher was.

Wow.  A 27-7 stretch would be nice...

We need to play the AL West from 5 years ago. Look at the record, interleague play saved the season.

We get to play the Royals, Orioles, White Sox, and Indians. I don't know what will happen in those games but those all look to be under .500 teams.

If we don't win more than half during that stint... we suck.

Positive vibes today.

Even if we lose, we're still 20-20! I'd have gladly taken that back before the season started.

Regardless of the outcome, baseball is alive and well and its nice to finally have a team that is semi competitive on a daily basis!

Not a must win, but it is a game that would be a game that could give a nice bump going into a big homestand.  The homestand is more of a must win than this game is.

Must win!  I don't want a .500 club, I want to be above that.

Using my completely unscientific form of predicting the nationals record for the end of the season i have it at 86-76.
That is losing every remaining series on the road except at baltimore, cleveland, houston, pittsburgh, and arizona as well as spliting every four game series and losing all remaining series to philly and splitting home and away with the mets, braves, and marlins.

Of course, we all want that, but that doesn't make this game a much win.

to each his own.  in my book i think a loss tonight would be really bad for this club.

If we lose 11-1, perhaps, but if Lannan has a good game and duels like he did last year in St. Louis, and Carpenter does what Carpenter does (on the mound, not the booth) and we lose 2-1, well, I can deal with that.  St. Louis is a good club.  I don't think being at .500 after 40 games is that big of a deal, considering what the scheule was and what it will be.  We've got 122 game left after today.  If we're still at .500 after the next 60ish games, then I'll be more concerned.

61. That is, that's the number he'll be at when he's yanked from the game.

97 and he gets through 7.  He leaves the game with the lead.

Need Lannan to have a big game today.  It's important in more ways than one.
