'02 Angels had numerous maybes for juicing(a lot of teams did);

Salmon, Erstad, Fullmer, Glaus, Spiezio and Anderson.

Kennedy?

Kennedy?

Hope not. Certainly could have had better numbers if he was using.

He had steady improvement until he hit his peak at 27-31 where he had a single 30+ HR season and 4 20+ HR seasons.  Absolutely nothing unusual in there at all.
meh, yeah you right. comparing his others, you right.. i take back what i said..

Scott Olsen is not a good pitcher. Too bad Marquis is injured, because that means we have to endure Scott Olsen for another few months.

Good thing, I reversed jinxed. Just wait for him to get blown up in the 5th inning.

No, I think you make a valid observation. Anderson certainly could have been on PED's... lot of Angels were at the time.

We can probably get 2 more good innings outta Olsen if he keeps pitching like this, and then bring in Clippard and Capps.

Nats need to give him some run support.

I like Olsen more than most here and I have no idea who that pitcher on the mound is today.  This should probably be seen as being as much of an aberration as his last start.

I wonder if Capps can go after going 2 inning yesterday.

Maybe he was, maybe he wasn't that is something baseball doesn't want anyone to know.

Good idea to be suspicious of a lot of guys in that era.  I'm just not sure why Anderson would have suddenly stopped after 03 if that's the case.  Looks more like a guy who swung for the fences a lot, improved his contact for his prime years, then started seeing nagging injuries right around age 33 that took him down a notch.

Pudge sure does call a lot of first pitch changeups.

"Watching" from MLB.com, I see that Olsen has seven SO in five innings. Just looked in, so only got the pitch-type and speed of the lastr couple of hitters, but MLB thinks he is throwing as change-up on about 4 out of 5 pitches. Hard to believe anybody could survive doing that, but just jammed Martin on an 88 mph fastball.

Isn;t Olsen supposed to throw harder than that?

88 pitches through 6 for Olsen. Expect him to go 1 more inning. I wonder if Capps will pitch again today. He and Clippard are going to get run in the ground by Riggleman.

Playing "imaginary manager", I would pull Olsen now. 90 pitches, six good innings. However, the bullpen seems thinned out today. No easy answer...except the Nats could be more patient (five pitches to Maxwell and Desmond last inning?)  and score a bunch of runs...

Surprised Clip is up when Olsen is only at 88 pitches.
