Yeah, Riggleman is the difference. Not the influx of actually talented players.

Cook STILL shouldn't have gotten that call!

Cook has a 15 ERA and 3.667 WHIP...I bet Marquis would trade for that lol

They seem a heck of a lot more disciplined at the plate. No Nick, but no Dukes, Milledge, Guzzie playing less. I'm going to look up p/pa.

Ok Craig, now just go 5-6 more innings, and get us above .500 again.

Virtually the same offense, though.  Slightly different with Pudge/Kennedy, but remember Flores was locked in this time last year.  It does help to have this Willingham vs. last year's version, but Dunn wasn't struggling like this last year.

I think it helps to have a manager who isn't so stubborn and makes adjustments a lot.  We don't always like Riggleman's adjustments, but at least he does it so much that if the team doesn't have things as they should be, it won't stay that way.

Acta would use a crappy line-up and just stick with it for two weeks.

It is so nice to have, what looks like, a real baseball team again.

I'm telling you, Stammen just looks bad right now.  Really hung that one.

Nyjer is a big, big difference. Guzman was white-hot to start last year, and so was Zim, but Kennedy and Nyjer are just so much better than random 2B and Milledge.

Oh, is that why we sucked so much over the last two years?  We weren't using regulation baseballs?

That explains a lot!

Give up a double to the Hall of Famer and keep the rest under control and you go far.

Ah, yeah, forgot about Nyjer.  That is a huge difference.

But really, the offense was getting it done last year.  This bullpen is far, far better, and that really makes a world of difference.

As the worst fielding team last year, Riggleman's had them constantly drilling.  Nats Extra had a report today on all the categories where the Nationals have dramatically improved since last year.

I mean I understand to a small extent giving a guy like Halladay calls over someone like Lannan.  But what I don't understand is two completely different zones for guys like Stammen and Cook.
