What do you think the odds are that Zimmerman plays today?

Geez this will make me nervous with this orginaztion's history of misdiagnosing injuries. I hope he takes all the time he needs to rest that hammy.

Quote from: Nats Insider
The Nationals also have an opportunity to take advantage of a depleted Phillies lineup. Jimmy Rollins almost certainly won't play tonight and could wind up on the disabled list with a strained calf (an injury suffered just moments before Monday's game). And Jayson Werth (who has just killed Nats pitching so far this season) also could be out of the lineup with a hip injury sustained Monday.

The Nats rarely take advantage of such gifts.

Yeah... if there's ever a time to take 2 out of 3 from the Phillies at their park... this is the time.

No Rollins, and two of their weaker starters in Kendrick (a guy we've shown we can hit) and Happ, a guy that can be hit or miss.

 Stammen has a good game today.  He was spot on early on last week, attacking hitter after hitter.

He needs to take a look back at the games that followed his start: Mock nibbled and made excuses - so he was sent down.  Lannan didn't have his best stuff his outing - but still worked around trouble.  Hernandez on Sunday - trusted his stuff and let hitters put the ball in play.  Marquis was awesome in the beginning - then couldn't keep his composure and got shelled.

Stammen doesn't have the best stuff out of the guys in our rotation, but he's a great competitor and knows how to pitch.  Hopefully he gets the job done tonight.  I enjoy .500 baseball or better.

And the Phillies are saying, "at least we get the Nats while Rollins and Werth sit and we have Kendrick and Happ going for us.

Stammen will make a great long reliever/spot starter when this team is good.  He just doesn't have the goods to make it through a lineup more than twice.

I agree I think he'll be an excellent asset out of the pen, but for now we can't afford that luxury and we'll need him to step up.

If anything, we let their backups light us up.

Stammen coming out of the pen makes me drool! That's when you'll know the Nats really have stocked the starting rotation!

I have to say I'm worried about the Phils seeing Stammen again so soon.  Hopefully they have short memories.

It kills me to be this pessimistic this early... Zimmerman's out for at least a month, I bet.

Ian Desmond is getting the day off today. Cristian Guzman will start at shortstop. I see Guzman as the Tony Phillips of this decade.#Nats

Zimmerman needs to get healthy. I already lost Brian Roberts on my fantasy team infield to the DL and if Zimmerman is hurt for a while my already average fantasy team is dead.

As far as the Nationals go? Get healthy Zim!

Oh gawd.  I can see the lineup now...

Morgan
Guz
Kennedy
Dunn
Hammer
Pudge
Gonzalez
Bernadina/Tavaras

Man...just when I thought we were gonna catch a break...

Maybe Harris will play 3rd or RF...That would make me feel a little better...
