Livan Hernandez, RHP (8-8, 5.70)
The big right-hander turned in another strong effort in Thursday's 6-5 victory over the Giants. This will be his second straight start against San Francisco -- providing he doesn't get dealt before July 31. He's been the ace of the Washington staff and made it very clear after his last game that he'd really love to stay in the District.

@

Matt Cain, RHP (7-7, 4.87)
Cain was effective through his first six innings of action against Washington in his last outing before he took the hill in the seventh. The right-hander walked three batters, paving the way for Nick Johnson's two-RBI single, putting the Nationals up for good and sending Cain to his seventh loss of the year. Cain showed control problems in his last outing, walking five Washington hitters and hitting one.

Cain can really fire it... He did well against us last time even though he lost.

I have a feeling we are going to need Cain to walk a ton of our hitters for us to score some runs.  Cain is nasty and he may strike out 10+ tonight

leadoff double for Winn. Come on Livo, let's not give up early runs like normal!

  • Hell yes!
Livan's pitching batting practice here.  I heard Bonds has 3 hits off Livan - all homers.  Glad he's not playing, even though he's been lousy lately.

laugh...if Winn ran faster Livan would have had to throw that ball...there's no way he would catch him.

No kidding, they're saying that Livo should have given up the run and gone for the double play ... uh ... NO ... I don't think so! ... runners first and second, still have a chance for a double play
