Quote
Bob Carpenter and Debbi Taylor are back as the Nationals' play-by-play voice and sideline reporter, respectively. They both work for the Mid Atlantic Sports Network.

Carpenter, who agreed to terms on a two-year deal, will go into his fifth season as the Nats' No. 1 voice on TV.

Carpenter became a popular figure after Washington relieved him of his duties at the end of the 2007 season. But Nats fans protested and Carpenter was later given a one-year deal with an option.

The hardworking Taylor, who enters her fourth season as the team's sideline reporter, is known for her great interviews and feature stories on the club.

Both Carpenter and Taylor were not available for comment.

Carpenter is fine. Debbi, no surprise, nor a big deal. Thanks for posting the article!

I guess that the votes cast by WNFF members were not counted. They must have hired ACORN for the tally.

Make that two.   Some of the dumbest interview questions, I have ever heard, came from airhead Debbie...........
As for Carpenter, I think Dibble and him make a great team-glad to hear he's on board again.

This is a bullcrap article.

nobody except for erica's nats and like 5 random people from the mlb board "protested" when they tried to replace carpenter.

the only reason they brought him back is because the guy they wanted (dan shulman) said no.

One extreme, meet the other.

I don't agree with your assessment at all.

Chief, there was NOT any sizable protest that brought carpenter back.

carpenter was brought back because there was no alternative after shulman said no.

show me the big protest that forced the nats to rehire him and i will take that statement back.

You are the one making the assertion that their claim is false, the burden of proof is on you.  You're also exaggerating my position.

In fact i cant remember anyone that didnt know him or one of his friends personally(for example, Erica) that was overwhelmingly against replacing him. At best many folks took a "wait and see who they choose" or an "i dont care" stance.

And Dunn is the world's biggest under-achieving jerk according to CatsEye.

What do dunn and catseye have to do with an article that says that carpenter was brought back because of a protest that didnt actually happen?

Dunn is a jerk according to CatsEye.

A protest didn't happen according to you.

I thought it was a pretty clear analogy.  Why would I believe CatsEye over my own observations?  Why would I believe you over MASN?  Do you know everyone in the world that I know who is a Nats fan?  This is pretty simple stuff.  If you think MASN is lying, that's for you to decide, but why should I think that?  Because you said so?

The nats tried to replace carpenter with someone else. They couldnt do it, so in the end they brought carpenter back. It had nothing to do with a "protest".  This was documented, and when i go to the library again i will find the news articles and post them here.

Oh so you DO actually have supporting evidence?

Point made.

I personally don't care one way or the other.  Who cares if a protest happened or not?
