if you guys want to see a bit of old-school booking, check out the Styles/Storm vs. Daniels/Kazarian match from Thursday's TNA Impact.  AJ lost a 3 way at the last PPV, with the stipulation that the loser can't get a title shot for a year.  So now he's in a funk.  When he was in the ring every move he did was either botched or missed, while Storm kept coming in to save the day.

At the end, AJ made the hot tag, hit a bunch of big moves, then missed his signature "pele kick," leaving himself at Daniels/Kaz's mercy until Storm ended the match with a super kick. AJ then left looking dejected.

It was an absolutely fantastic bit of story telling "in the ring," complete with a tribute to Gangnam Style.

Here's the last 5 minutes or so:

James Storm and AJ Styles vs. Kazarian and Christopher Daniels - Nov 29, 2012

Without even watching, how could something with a tribute to Gangnam Style possibly be a "tribute to old school booking"?  I don't recall Dusty Rhodes including tributes to MC Hammer in matches.

if you are a fan of the high-flying speed wrestling style, this match from 2008 is as good as it gets:

Dean Ambrose is the next big thing.

from what i read he stole the show at the PPV last night.  I remember Rollins from his ROH days, nothing spectacular but he was a good worker.

hilarious crying shame...dude named Big E Langston debuts on Raw, lays John Cena out, and 25 seconds later, he's known as "Ryblack" and trending worldwide on twitter. lmao.

I'll admit, when he first came out... and all I could see was his body outline... I thought to myself... Ryback sure is darker than I remembered,

:)

Vince has taken us back to 1985, muscle-bound guys who can't work a lick, though this time without the gimmicks.   Is Langston going to end Ryback-o-mania once and for all?

the ryblack name is hilarious.  from the vids i've seen of him and from what i hear, this dude is a beast.  love how the guys from NXT/FCW are coming up.

the trend worked when daniel bryan/ryback/wade barrett/heath slater/etc all came up.

that was such BS ... didn't justin roberts even say there was no harm.  i hate that crap.

whatever, obviously daniel bryan has shown he's an elite wrestler, entertaining performer and has what it takes to be a main eventer.  never complains about jobbing for others, etc.

when he and ambrose square off in a main event in the next year or so, it's gonna be legendary.  i'd like to see a cactus jack vs. HHH type match between those two.

Are they trying to turn ADR face?

yes.  i think he can succeed as a face too.

he has a lot of swag and sometimes a face w/ swag and confidence works nicely.

this is what wrestlezone had to say about it:

Quote
F4Wonline.com is reporting Alberto Del Rio's face turn is due to WWE wanting a reliable and likeable Mexican star.

With Sin Cara and Rey Mysterio both appearing off and on over the past year due to injuries and suspensions—the company felt it was time to turn Del Rio.

They decided also to keep Del Rio paired with Ricardo Rodriguez and give him a face turn. The feeling was he could be a big part in helping get Del Rio over with the fans.

Keeping RR with ADR is the best way to turn ADR face.  People have been waiting for the "disrespected sidekick" to break free from his oppessor but if you need the headliner to be a face have him appear to be reconciliatory.  Not only that, when ADR goes heel again he can just blame RR for his problems and beat the crap out of him.

Classic.

when RR went after the shield last night that was awesome.

i know it won't happen, but cena going heel would be a HUGE thing for WWE.  I understand why they are torn, b/c from a PR standpoint - the guy is a saint in the community and stand-up dude, etc.  But from a storyline angle, it'd be easy to turn him.

they've done it with triple h, they did it with stone cold, etc.

Apparently in Mexico ADR's whole family has always been face. When ADR debuted as a heel in WWE, it was the first time anyone in his family had ever been heel.
