I second the motion. what a lazy bastard.
Anyway, the only thing we can give you at this point in the day is a fifth-starter possibility: familiar face Livan Hernandez. We’ve heard the Diamondbacks are considering bringing him back, most likely more for his role in the clubhouse and how he can help young players than for his potential performance. As for the performance, the numbers last year weren’t pretty: He had a 5.44 ERA in 31 starts, including a 5.47 ERA with the Mets and a 5.36 ERA with the Nationals.
Sure let's just keep trotting out his ERA.
Jon Heyman must have bumped into Mark DeRosa's agent today, because the SI reporter lists eight clubs that have already called on the player. Heyman's tweet indicates the Yankees, Mariners, Nationals, Dodgers, Phillies, Rangers, Orioles, and Giants have inquired. That seems to be an indication that DeRosa's November wrist surgery will not limit his market.
Hudson will stay in Atlanta for 3 more years.
Well, here's to hoping the Marlins non-tender Nolasco.
Spoken with teams about Florida's arb.-eligible trade bait, and there clearly is major interest in Cantu and Nolasco.
"The Nationals again are drawing strong trade interest in left fielder Josh Willingham. Whether they are willing to move him is another question.Willingham, 30, produced a career-high .863 OPS last season, hitting 24 home runs in 427 at-bats. His offense would be difficult for the Nats to replace. The Braves, looking for a right-handed power hitter, like Willingham but harbor concerns about his defense and past back troubles. Willingham might be a better fit in the American League, where he could be used as a DH.The Nats control Willingham for two more seasons. He earned $2.95 million last season, and his salary likely will rise to the $4.5 million to $5 million range in his second year of arbitration."
This is news from a couple of days ago but I don't know if it was posted:http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/10357594deal him!
