Guess the full season rotations for 2010
« Topic Start: October 19, 2009, 01:39:43 PM »
Here is my best guess for the rotations for the full season teams:

AAA:
Balester
Martis
Meyers
Chico
Mock

AA:
Strasburg
Arnesen
Mandel
Milone
Thompson

A+:
Morris
Engles
Peacock
Atwood
Frias

A-:
McGeary
Willems
Holder
Jaime
Clegg

There are a few guys that might have to move to the bullpen, but that minor league rotation is solid and a lot better than what we had in the past

Hard to say. I don't know the injury status of Willems, Engles, etc.

Atwood will move up to AA. Mandel might move up to AAA. Arnesen too.

Chico should move up to the bullpen. Mock should just go away. We can't be giving valuable rotation spots to those two.

Lobby Bombastic said Jaime could be in the Majors by the end of the season. Could have been Kilgore, but I think it was Brewsky.

Same with Thompson.

Just a little update on Balester. 10.1 innings pitched. 6 earned runs. 5 walks 10 k's 9 hits in 4 games. He's pitching in a minor league game today. He should go 4 innings.

Fastball cloked at 96 mph. Throwing hard and feeling good. JD, Balester, Thompson, Meyers will be ready if someone stumbles or is hurt on the Nats rotation.

Are those total combined spring stats, major and minor?

Yes. Also, I forgot to mention he has given up only the 1 homer.  The Nats told him they want to keep him as a starter as of now.

Side note of importance. Strasburg should be in AA for 5 starts then AAA for 5 starts then up for good in June.  You know the " Arbitration-Clock thing".  Thats my take on it.

Yes. We are going over today. Its really nice here in Florida. Get to see Ash and have a good time while watching Bally and the others go for it. AAA (Cuse) should be really good this year. There are a lot of MLB players on the team. That should mean run support for the starters which Bally was lacking last year. This year will be different. Go Nats! Go Chiefs! Chiefs Team ERA at 4.00,  team runs scored at 4.5 per game. That will win some games. Then take the winning attitude up to the Bigs when they get their call. Nice goals to set.

Word on whether SS is starting opening day or 4/10? Knorr says former, Kilgore says latter. I bought tickets for 4/10 on a lark, doesn't break the bank

I thought the Nationals were intent on changing Mandel into a reliever.

Balester's line from today... 5 innings only 70 pitches, 2 k's , 3 bb's ( Shoebox for a strike zone) 6 hits, 3 to 4 earned runs they were debated one earned run, 1 HR ( pop up wind aided) I thought our outfielder was going to catch it then he had to run to the fence and it dropped over the fence. Unlucky. 92-94 on radar. 1st- 3 innings only 30 pitches then some errors and a walk in the 4th. 5th inning got two out on 4 pitches had a 1-2 count and had a perfect curveball for strike 3 and ump called it a ball.  Walked the guy, two doubles later 2 runs scored and one on a missed tag at the plate. He gets that strike call and he goes 2 runs in 5 innings on 55 piches. Oh well thats baseball. Other than that Bally looks solid. I like it that he is keeping his pitch count down. Can you tell I am a little biased! LOL!

Balester update. 5 innings 4 hits 1 earned run in a intersquad game today.
Good for Bally. JD, Balester, Martis, Chico in AAA rotation. Now thats a really good rotation for AAA. Go Chiefs! Then Go nats!

so no onementioned that mock saves an option if he spends the whole year in dc. better reason for him to begin the season in dc than lac.
