Strasburg has top-shelf makeup. If this guy is a dick, and doesn't develop, then you have Josh Hamilton or something. College pitcher please.

Except for the fact that Harper is clearly light years better than any current college pitcher. Let's go cheap and signability so we can emulate the Pirates. Brilliant plan!

He clearly has a lot of growing up to do. Draft him based on talent, and then if he's a jerk or not a "Rizzo guy" just trade him.

I love college pitchers, but none of them are an option over Harper.

Or you could trade Josh Hamilton for Edin...wait a minute.

Seriously, if Bryce Harper rakes like a madman in the minor leagues, it's nothing but good options for us. Hopefully he grows up, of course. But we could wind up with the next Joe Mauer as our catcher, or we could receive the entire New York Yankees minor league system via trade.

I'm sure Rizzo's mafia would have a "sit down" with Harper and explainging its the Nats way or the beltway.

Fixed.
Either way.  He was a pretty special ball player too before the Roids.

Bryan Bullington was a great pick. :spaz:

 Show him the way, Rizzo! :whip:

Yeah, he played against my brother's team down in FL. I saw him hit 4 homers in three games. SO many people at those games. Just a cool experience hearing the crowd's reaction to him coming up to bat each time. He was already A-Rod. That's why it is hard for me to dislike the guy.

Same thing with Grant Hill, Dennis Scott and Randolph Childress up here. You just can't help but like a superstar more when you got to watch them become one.

Yep. They put Elijah Dukes right in line.

I don't think he has been picked up yet which is kind of shocking.

He must have really not been able to hit those breaking pitches.

I just meant personality wise. I don't want to see Harper dance around in the dug out.

This thread turned awesome in the past page.

I feel like this guy would be a clubhouse cancer. Michael Barrett or Milton Bradley stylez. If this guy tears the cover off the ball AND grows up then awesome, but if he's like this even in the minors, I hope Rizzo has the balls to flip him for a boatload of prospects.

He's 17. I thought I knew everything at that age too. Getting drafted by Rizzo with Rizzo's expectations for conduct might be the best thing for him.

Yep. They put Elijah Dukes right in line.

?

Not sure how you can compare Harper and Dukes.

I'm not. I am questioning whether or not Rizzo and his Council of Elders are the best people to hold a player's hand as they cross the street.
