We need a good defensive middle infielder. Those two playing up the middle would not be a good thing.
Desmond can be a plus defender. great arm and quickness.

idk, I don't have a  big problem with it and I love when they're aggressive, but you hate to make the 3rd out at home like that. o well

Agreed, but there was a better than decent chance of scoring there.  It's not as stupid as...   you know, for example...  sending Wil Nieves home from 2nd on a bloop to shallow CF ;)

we weren't going to score anyways.

I was stunned that fat ass Livan didn't make it safe at first. that was a perfect bunt that just sat in the grass for what seemed like forever and he still was out by a safe margin.

hand slid in FIRST. What a great slide.

go kill yourself umpire. freaking nag
Makes me want to turn the freaking game off and stop watching.

Desmond makes a great aggressive play and slides in before the tag and he is called out.

makes me sick to see umpires decide the outcome of games. all calls should be automated. all of them.
PERFECT SLIDE!!!

The Phils get the call over the lowly Nats just because they are the Phillies.

Hand slid in right before the tag.
SAFE!!!! WHAT THE freak?!!!!

TERRIBLE CALL!!!!!

He's not a plus defender, though. He's below average. That's the point.

You just started to like the kid about 3 weeks ago.

It was a fantastic slide.  I'd need to see it again, but it didn't look like such an egregious call that I'm going to freak out over it.  Blanton made a pretty good play to get back and cover the plate after fielding the bunt too.

He's got great defensive skills. who's to say he's not a plus defender? it'd be nice if he played everyday to see what we got.

That's not true at all. I've been a Desmond fan for a while now. can't remember when, either last year or the beginning of this year. i've only had the avi for a few weeks.

We could really benefit from a lot of split squad games next spring to give all these guys a fair look.

they had nothing to do with each other. Guzman just can't play anymore. When he's not getting 2 hits a game he is utterly useless. One tool player.

Desmond has turned his career around over the last 2 seasons. Finally living up to the "Derek Jeter comparison" hype. He is a natural. So excited about his potential :az:
