Well, that was refreshing. Don't remember a Gameday thread being closed in-game before.

Villone has been so disgusting since the ASB.  What happened?  He was our best reliever before that.

He remembered that he was Ron Villone the man who has played on an MLB record 12 different franchises

He needs to start juicing again.

This. He woke up one morning after a successful night and said "what the freak am I doing, I'm MF'ing Ron Villone."

This ties in with what Dave B was talking about recently (and what got him ridiculed by JMad):

Relievers, particularly journeymen like Villone and Sosa, are a fickle mistress.

I'm kind of afraid that the recent success of some of our more "trash heap" relievers will result in us keeping them, only to have them suck next year and put us in an early hole again.

This isn't about not wanting success/wins, but I'm hoping our F.O. has the good sense to put a heavy emphasis on sample sizes and whatnot.  We didn't really change up the bullpen going into '09, and I believe that's been one of the biggest difference-makers in this season.

Anyone know off the top of their head how many errors the team has had since the Manny era ended?

we won't win forever with our bullpen pitching 5 innings a night.

sometime soon, our starters are going to have to do their job and pitch at least into the 7th.

(is this acceptable to say?)

And there's no way Riggleman should have substituted Belliard for Dunn.

Is Reynolds in their batting order, twice?  This seems like the 8th time he's batted today!

That's what we get for letting a speed freak pitch in our pen.
