Nick Johnson and Joe Beimel. they aren't worth nearly as much as you think. You have to be happy just to get anything for them. Sitting still at the deadline and trading no one would have been worse.

You have to think about what they are worth to contenders, NOT what they're worth to us.

NJ like you said is just what the Marlins were lacking. They have a ton of guys who hit for power and strike out a lot. He will hit for a high BA and draw walks.

Still, let's be honest, the Fish aren't going to make the playoffs. I doubt the Rockies will either.

if we had traded nj a few weeks ago we would have gotten more for him. we waited until other 1b started moving and his value plummeted as the number of teams who needed him shrunk.

Why wasn't Gonzo at 2B for the throw there?

Bench his lazy ass.

CG, 8.0 inning (could have been CG), I guess the way Lannan has been pitching he was due to have a rough outing.  I just didn't think it would be against the Pirates.

2, correct? Argenis Diaz is a AA utility infielder and Strickland looks like a solid SP prospect who is in A ball.
