To Dibble's point, BP found that generally when a pitcher gets tired, he is still able to maintain velocity but loses control. They try harder to maintain their speed, but it throws off their mechanics and they throw more balls. Time to go for Stammen.

Carlos Beltran's post-break MRI revealed no change in the size of the bone bruise. He will need more rest and his return is not imminent, according to GM Omar Minaya.Beltran looks like he will be out a couple of more weeks now and there is no certainty he will be full speed before the end of the season.
