iPods
« Topic Start: July 15, 2009, 02:02:53 PM »
sooooo i'm looking for one that can hold a good amount of songs (800-1,000) and the video feature wouldn't be a bad option.  anywhere from 100-200 bucks.  what iPod am i looking for matches my search?

edit: to be more specific, u think the Apple iPod nano 3rd Generation Black would be a good option?

thanks,
hammondsnats

I have the Nano 4g with 8GB. I just use it for music, presently about 1050 songs so it's about half filled. Think it's $140.

I have a 3g nano 4gb - i want an iTouch, but the 3g is pretty good. 4g is better for video because it senses orientation and flips the screen if you turn it sideways. Also you shake the 4g to shuffle songs.

The IPod Classics have capacity for more music than anyone person can listen to and about 4 months worth of video.

I've got a 16 gig iTouch... pretty solid. I've spent about half of my space on 1100 songs.

I have the ipod nano from like 2007 that holds about 1000 songs... Its old school and small and kinda crappy.

What do people recommend if I want to upgrade to hold a good amount of songs, maybe 1500-2000?

Or anything with cool features thats reasonable?

Thanks in advance

No IPod.  Got Sansa fuze 8 GB.  Has video capability and FM radio and can record from radio or anything else.

Also it has a mini-SD slot so you can put in extra memory or a SLOT MUSIC album or Slot Radio chip.

I had an early Sansa - it got unplugged when I was loading music and it died - permanently. It was a known fault. Good thing I got it free.

Mine's been good so far!  I also like putting in the music that's on the Micro SD.  You can buy 1000 songs for about $40 (slot radio oldies).  No need for downloading and that should hold me for awhile!   :D

It depends whether you want one with Flash Memory or a HD.  HD holds more.  Flash memory is good if you drop your MP3.  No HD to crash.

Go to CNET or Consumer Reports.  They review the recent ones.  Sony makes some nice ones too.

I drop everything - ipods, laptops, phones, cameras, you name it. I actually get my money's worth out of warranties.

That's what I have...it has like 400 albums on it and that's barely scratched the surface (I think it has almost 100GB left).

i got my first ipod a couple weeks ago. my girlfriend upgraded her iphone and gave me her old one. so it is essentially a heavier ipod touch. the wifi is handy if you can find a spot and need to look something up.

see if anybody on craigslist is selling old crap for cheap. i suspect some people will have traded up their iphones and might be trying to get rid of the old ones. although i think they can apparently sell them on ebay to people in china for a lot of money for some reason.

it has enough storage for me but i cant even name 400 albums

I just keep my mp3s on a HD and reload my 4GB nano every now and then - 120GB is just absurd

That's what I did with my old iPhone, gave it to my sister so it is basically an iPod Touch.

People in China buy them because no wireless carrier in China sells iPhones yet.

Shooter is a great ipod movie. Good sound and action, not so much plot that you give a crap if you miss a few minutes.

oh, it is...but it's cool sitting on a ski lift with more music in your pocket than most radio stations stocked in the CD age.

when batman goes out to drink and watch the nats win, batman endorses the use of the ipod touch for keeping up with the other drunks at wnff.net.  batman doesn't guarantee that your typing will be what one would call "perfect" when touch-typing drunk, however
