Wanted to get this out earlier - filming of the Nats movie with Reese Witherspoon and Owen Wilson is about to start at the Georgetown Waterfront at 3:30 for anyone who wants to rubberneck.

If Stammen beats both the Sox and Yankees in one week he should be allowed to stay in the rotation for the rest of the year.

sadly I don't think that is going to happen. our offense won't give him any runs anyways.

i agree def buys him some time up here.  i think right now it's a battle btwn martis/stammen of who gets sent down.

Quote
1. Harris, CF
2. Guzman, SS
3. Zimmerman, 3B
4. Johnson, 1B
5. Willingham, LF
6. Dukes, RF
7. Hernandez, 2B
8. Nieves, C
9. Stammen, P

I do like the starting lineup although I wish AlGo were in there over Guzman.

that'd be terrible detwiler has been pretty decent and has a higher ceiling than stammen/martis.  i know they are all young, but still i'd like to see det stay up.

That scratches tonight for our bet, btw.

Why?  Guzman is batting .346 and is a switch hitter.  Why not pull '360's ass out of the line-up, who is batting .222 in the last 30 days.

yeah if only flores, espinosa and bernadina were in it, he'd be goo-goo-ga-ga over this line-up.

scratches the bet? what? :?

that wasn't stipulated when we made the bet. it's not like he is hurt or anything.

Shrug.  If you want to win it that way, I guess I don't care.  Doesn't show much faith in your boy though.  Up to you.

no the bet should be off now that dunn isn't in the line-up.

watch the offense get shut out and somehow SF is gonna pin this on Dunn.

sportsfan is exposing himself further. This way Chief, sportsfan gets a shot at getting his wish of securing a better chance at a blowout (since he doesn't like competitive challenges anyway). That's shameless dude. I wonder what he would say if it were Zimmerman getting the day off.

nothing. I took that risk when I made the bet because RZ could have gotten an off day yesterday. both guys have only had like 1 off day all year going into this game.

So if Stammen beats the Red Sox and the yankees in one week's time you would be fine with him staying here the rest of the season even if he got his ass handed to him start after start, as long as he beat those two teams? Sounds like sportsfan has become a member of the rah rah squad.  :?

But when you guys made the bet the lineups were already out. Nevermind, this isn't even my bet so I'll just watch from the outside.

So you want the bet to continue as-is?  Or do we do "winner take all" on tomorrow night's game?

come on. you know me better than that.

if he beats the Yanks and Sox twice in one week he won't get his ass handed to him start after start. even if he does I would rather him get his ass kicked up here than Olsen.

I guess just act like tonight's game doesn't count. 2-2 carries over to tomorrow
