Cecil is horrible (also from UMD). No excuse tonight offense.

He made his last start with the Jays on May 20th and got rocked: 4.2 IP 11 H 8 R 8 ER 5 HR 2 BB 3 K.

Then they sent him down to AAA where he has gone 1-2 with a 4.26 ERA in 5 starts since being demoted.

Quote
After Olsen's latest start with Class AAA Syracuse, a 3-2/3 inning, seven-hit, four-earned run effort on Friday against Columbus, those in the Nationals' front office spoke with the Syracuse coaching staff and determined that the left-hander would need one more rehab start.

Two of Olsen's rehab starts have come with the Chiefs; they've produced, total, 6-2/3 innings and an 8.10 ERA.

"He needs one more outing to come up here -- for his own good and for our good, too," Acta said. "They felt that even when he had good velocity he still wasn't sharp. He was scattering the strike zone too much."

great. 1 more start and Olsen is back for good.

Yah, but his first two starts for the Jays were very good.  Getting racked at Fenway shouldn't be held against the guy.  Local kid, too - DeMatha and UMD.  And PECOTA loves him.  But Nick just walked so he's gonna get killed.

seriously, what is wrong with them. that has to stop being fun after a couple innings, right? they must be special. i can't see how anybody who can afford those seats can be that easily amused

this umpire is terrible. different strike zone for both pitchers. he's giving Cecil anything close.

wtf Nick

excluding our pitching the other facets of the game (hitting and defense) have been as bad as they have been all season.

Disgusting.

Blank screen on Cox in Fairfax.  Anyone else have the same problem?
