I think Tony Gwynn is the face for this SDSU team, there's no way he's the brains behind the operation.

Does anyone know if the NCAA committee has said what they were smoking when they picked this regional?

Putting UVA and UC Irvine the the same bracket?

Sending UVA across the freaking country to play 3 CA teams?

I need contact info for Boras.  I want to set up some kind of deal for a local microbrewer to make a Strasburg Beer/Ale.  It's a beer-sounding name.

(Image removed from quote.)
Brewed at 97 mph

Remember, Boras is just an advisor -- not his agent.  Yeah, riiiiiiiiiiight.  Isn't it about time that the NCAA dumps that charade about who's an agent and who's an advisor?

Imagine if Strasburg pitched for a good team like UVa.  His numbers would really be ridiculous.  SDSU's defense makes the Nats look like the 70s Orioles.

UVA beats SDSU 5-1.  Double Elimination NCAA tournament.
Strasburg is the losing pitcher, a memory that will only grow for UVA, the more Strasburg excels in MLB.

I thought the guy looked quite good. He threw mid-90's consistent topping out at 97mph

His slider was working for the most part and when he lost his fastball, it was down

Except that the ACC is the best college baseball league in the country.  Had he pitched in a major conference he probably would have still dominated, but he wouldn't have been significantly different.  They'd probably be a little worse.  It would have been fun to see him go up against UNC or Miami though.

QFT.  Strasburg won't be hearing that in MLB, not even the minors.  They ought to drop them in college.  It's not glorified Little League.

When asked about using them in the MLB, a slugger's response was, "Someone sitting in the outfield could get killed, if we used aluminum bats."
IT'll never happen, it's too expensive for the little schools.  There are only a handful of schools that break even in the first place on baseball, much less make any money, to as, them to foot the bill for wood bats would probably be the death of college baseball.  It's the only thing about the sport I don't like though.  It's a great product to watch.

You haven't seen the cost of metal bats, have you?  Some of them are $300 or more.

The ACC the best conference?  The Big West has two schools in the Top 6.  How many ACC schools are in the Top 10?
