Can anyone help me with this? My comp monitor suddenly stopped working, and everything is plugged in right. The computer itself is on, I'm thinking the monitor exploded maybe (it was fairly old).

Actually, if Bill James' theorem is to be given any credit, we ought to be 22-17.

I think our record proves Bill James to be a blowhard.

For not having a monitor you sure did a pretty good job navigating the site to post.

QFTQFT. We couldn't ask for more from Lannan.

Lannan was outstanding today.

Holliday and Knight were unusually peppy and positive after this game. I believe they along with Dibble and Carpenter were ordered to tone down the ripping and criticism of the team. figures

Today there wasn't much to be pissed off about other than that Joel Hanrahan.  The offense had plenty of chances (Austin Kearns is still here b/c why?!?!?!?!?!?!?!) but Joel cost us the game.

a loss is a loss and it was the bullpen again.

Knight and Dibble are being censored and there is no doubt about it.

We're basically playing with about an 18 player roster. That's a huge handicap to overcome. The deck is stacked against us every game.

You don't think the GIDP's had anything to do with it (Kearns, Nieves)?  1-for-8 as a team with RISP?  20 LOB?  TWENTY LOB?

Hanrahan sucks, but we lost by one run and the offense had its chances.

I don't know that I buy that. Who would censor them, MASN, Angelos, Kasten? I don't know that Kasten could do tha if he wanted to anyway.

We'd have to take up a collection for that to happen.

How else do you explain Knight and Dibble cooling on their ripping of the team tonight?

Just too disgusted to care any more? I'm getting to that point.

Perhaps. Plus this wasn't a meltdown like other nights. Hanrahan blew it but it was a one run game where our offense failed. After the way they have produced you can't all of a sudden rip him for a night off. Besides, they had to get back at the bullpen somehow. Of course the bullpen had the last laugh.

OK cool. You should've taken credit anyway.

Is there such a thing as enough profits?

we must be desensitized. these bullpen losses are becoming the norm. On a normal team bullpens blow games maybe once or twice every two weeks.

are you serious?  i'm not a kearns or nieves fan.  they sucked, but what do you expect neither of them are on a winning team.  and wow was hanrahan bad.

Quote
Washington left fielder Adam Dunn picked up the ball and made a weak throw to the infield. The ball bounced past shortstop Guzman, second baseman Ronnie Belliard and third baseman Ryan Zimmerman, allowing LaRoche to score.

Dunn was charged with an error for allowing Wilson to go to third.

"[Dunn] missed the cutoff man on that one," Acta said. "If they want the 40 home runs, the 100 RBIs and a .400 on-base percentage, you also know he is not Torii Hunter [in the outfield]. Dunn works hard and he gives us his best, but, here and there, he is going to be short defensively."
