why do all the UFC fans hate Lesnar?

Lesnars getting bashed all over the place, why?

I'm not sure all UFC fans hate him. Especially after he pummeled a guy like Mir last night, who's no slouch (and was in the best shape he's been in years, IMO). But I guess he's resented because people see him as a guy who was only given a title shot so fast, and hyped so much, because of his past experience in WWE. That even with his past amateur wrestling background, he hasn't earned the spotlight he's in.

But he's bringing in a lot of new fans from pro wrestling, so I doubt UFC minds the criticism

I love Lesnar.

Always have, always will.

Of course I'm also a big WWE fan so that's not too surprising.

The guy is a monster in the cage though... plus his post match promo just brought the company even more exposure. Dana White and Brock are both laughing all the way to the bank.

Lesnar single handedly created a character that people either want to see kick some ass or have his ass kicked. He's a marketing genius. I can't wait to see what he does next.

Oh, absolutely. I think some people resent the fact that Brock is creating this heel persona in MMA, kind of like a pro wrestling character. But all the money and new fans Brock draws can only help UFC go to that next level, so it's hard to hate the guy for that.

Kind of the same reason why I like UFC's The Ultimate Fighter show. Establishing "characters" that people want to pay money to see is important for the sport. It's why guys like Frank Mir are so important - like him or not, he's got a very TV-friendly persona. Super well spoken, great interviews. Brock brings that skill over from WWE too.

(I used to be pretty big into WWE too...but my favorite wrestler since the mid-90's was Eddie Guerrero :( After he passed, I just didn't have the same passion for it. I watch every now and then if it's on though.)

There was supposed to be an MMA superfight next Saturday between Fedor Emelianenko and Josh Barnett. Unfortunately, Barnett tested positive for a steroid. As of now, the fight is off. Barnett has appealed and a “B” sample will be tested. If that yields a similar result no one knows who will step in to fight Fedor.

I really wanted to see this fight. :?  Those two are the highest ranked heavyweights. Fedor is the guy everyone wants Lesnar to fight next. Hopefully that'll still happen.

"Many of you are wondering what's happening," he wrote. "What I can say is that when applying for my license, the CSAC asked for me to submit a urine sample for testing prior to granting my license as they do with everyone, I believe. It was not a random test. I had no reason to believe there would be any issues and went in to submit my sample at the earliest possible opportunity on June 25th. I never once thought there would be a problem.

"My representatives and I are working to gather as much info as possible and handle this situation as best as we can. I am embarrassed and want for nothing more than to resolve this issue and receive a license from the State of California as I have done many times already and for other states as well.

I am very thankful for all the great family, friends and fans that still support me."

Has there been any word on who will replace?

I'm just waiting for the "Super UFC" where the contestants have to take a fistful of Viagra an hour before the fight.

Wow, weird that WWE fans here love Lesnar.

I don't hate the guy on a personal level but I think he was horse crap in the WWE.  He was very careless in the ring and had a penchant for injuring opponents.  Just ask Hardcore Holly who was out for over a year after Lesnar broke his neck.

And don't get me started on his last match with Goldberg.  What a crappile.

Although I guess you could attribute that to Goldberg being a dud in the ring.

At least he did it to himself too -- aka, that shooting star press attempt where he just about broke his neck faceplanting on the canvas

UFC 101 is tonight. Penn should whoop Florian. I'm really looking forward to the Silva-Griffin fight. Two awesome fighters. Silva's probably the favorite, but i want Griffin to win.

that Silva vs Griffen fight was a joke. Silva is a beast but Griffen preached how he wont give up and ends up eating his own words. In the first round it was done.....

The Henderson-Bisping fight is on Spike right now. Henderson knocks him the freak out early in the second round. It's a nice one.

 That finish was awesome, especially after all the jawing Bisping did during The Ultimate Fighter.

Anyone watch the StrikeForce event on Showtime Saturday night? That Chris Cyborg chick has got to be a man. I don't blame Gina Carano for not wanting to stay in there with her for very long.

Fedor is just an amazing fighter. One of the best I've ever seen. Anyone else see the fight last night.
