Mentioned this in another thread but he and Carpenter were discussing player nicknames.    Zimmerman was up and Dibs wanted to create a nickname out of Z's hometown.   He asked Carpenter where Z-man is from and Carpenter said, "Norfolk."     Dib's response was,  "We'll leave that alone."    I'm still chucklin' at that one.    I can imagine what went through his mind at first blush.

Just after Dunn hit the 5th Nat's homer off the Phillies:

Bob Carpenter: Dukes steps up. No outs...What do you think he's thinking?

Dibble: I hope that I don't catch one in the ribs.

PS  Taylor is awful.

The Orioles got the better of the deal there. Amber Theoharis is top notch and much better looking, too.

Dibble ... "the Nats' pitchers are gutless"   vs the Phillies 4/28.    The sad part is that it is true.

Is it my imagination, or has Ryan Howard lost about 100 pounds since last season?  This may have been discussed ad nauseum, but tonight was about the first game I watched (rather than just listened to).  Plus he's a hell of a lot faster.

Dibble commenting on how hard it is when hitters see a pitcher having trouble with his stuff: Hitters man, they keep comming at you just like those little ants -- uggggh! Dibble when the camera focuses on Jesus Flores in the dugout resting his head on a bat and day dreaming: Haaaay...suse, Haaaaaay.......susse, where are you Jesus?

I don't remember it verbatim, but when Coste was up in the 4th and just missed a Grand Slam (foul), Dibbs was upset with the pitch selection and said something like how Coste was just late on a fastball on the previous pitch, and was kind of wodering why Olsen was messing around with a guy who's "a backup catcher."  Also expressed a desire to be more agressive "with these people."  Special bonus point for referring to Philly as "these people."

The best part of that was right after he said that, Jesus perked up and looked around like someone was actually calling for him.

It sounds like the producer/director told the cameraman to call out to Jesus which is why he snapped to.
