Two losing streaks (current and road game) snapped today, lets get some momentum going with our 1-2 rookie pitchers punch.

He did have one of his momentum stopping GDP  ;). In all seriousness, though, I would love for him to keep knocking in runs, because we need whatever we can get.  I don't see the Nats being able to trade him, but it might be possible if he keeps showcasing some power.

Maxwell showed some real good stuff today.  It kills me to think of what might have been (and the problems we would have avoided) if he didn't miss all that time with the injuries.

WTF MASN, show only one question from Acta's post game conference?

Knight just ranked our top pitchers:

1.  Zimmermann
2.  Martis
3.  Lannan

it depends what you rank them on. Right now in this moment of time I'd go Lannan-JZ-Martis-Olsen-Cabrera

If we replaced Crab we would actually have a damn solid rotation. kind of scary

yeah you can't argue that, except i wouldn't put them in any order.  i really want to see martis have a good year because he good be a key pitcher in the back end of our rotation for years to come.  doesn't overpower you, but doesn't get rattled and battles out there.  with strasburg on the way we'll have just one spot open (if martis continues to pitch well, two if he flops, which i don't think he will).

Zimmermann, Flores help Nats earn first road win

By MIKE FITZPATRICK, AP Baseball Writer 20 minutes ago
NEW YORK (AP)—Jordan Zimmermann showed off the sharp stuff that has Washington so excited about his future, and the Nationals routed the New York Mets 8-1 on Sunday for their first road victory this season.

Jesus Flores homered and drove in three runs against his former club, Austin Kearns also teed off on an ineffective Oliver Perez (1-2) and the Nationals improved the majors’ worst record to 4-13 by snapping a three-game skid.

One of baseball’s top prospects, the 22-year-old Zimmermann (2-0) beat Atlanta 3-2 in his major league debut last Monday and stifled the inconsistent Mets, too. He struck out slumping David Wright three times and allowed one run with six hits in 5 1-3 innings.

Is this the first time this season a Nats pitcher has gone +100 pitches?

sorry, I meant to answer your question earlier in the game.  Zimm went 103 pitches, tying Scott Olsen for most pitches thrown by a Nationals starter in a single game this year.  Olsen threw 103 pitches in his last start against the Marlins.  Other than that, there have been no other occurrences of a Nats pitcher exceeding 100.

He looked seriously pissed when Manny pulled him.
