Wow, I thought Lannan was screwed after getting down 3-0, but he did a great job of battling back against Cantu and forced the ground out.  He has some nice movement on his pitches today, something he has been lacking in his first two starts.

he's throwing a lot more change-ups/curves too which is good against the Fish.

He is spotting his heater well and is hitting 90-91 with it.

I don't think I've ever seen Lannan throw this hard consistently.

When Lannan has that tail action on his fastball, he is money.  When his pitches are flat, he is nothing.  Tonight it is the former.

Hopefully they got a taste of winning and don't want it to end.

So close JW....so close. This guy has got to play more than Kearns.

I have to agree.  I don't think Kearns deserves a starting spot, I don't care how good his defense is.

agreed.

I liked Kearns starting the year out simply based on his spring, but with our situation, we just need to start the guy that is hot.  It will be nice to see JW get some regular at bats.

That was a wicked cool slomo shot of Marine 1 or one of its clones earlier.

He still had a really good AB, and our offense is hitting Nolasco very hard.

Kearns could be a great defensive substitution for Dunn or Willingham when we're ahead. Of course, we need to have a lead...
