Going tonight, if it looks like the rain will let up (at this point, I am literally a fairweather fan :) ).  Definitely going tomorrow night, then Sunday, but only if JZimm's starting (weekend plans that I'm only willing to cancel to see his debut).  No tickets yet though -- it's weird not having season tickets for the first time  :'(

9.2.2009 @ SD Padres (day game)
maybe 9.1.2009, if I feel like driving down after work....maybe I'll take the train.

and I'm trying to find people/person to go with me May 6/7 @ LA Dodgers.

As already stated, I'll be at Sunday v. Marlins (hopefully Jordan Zimmermann's debut).

And if you're really jonsing for my manly forearm, you can always check out Collin Balester's wiki page.   :D

May 24th.  Should I get the tickets in advance or wait for game day?

Sunday Orioles, I think I'd wait, unless you find a steal on Stub Hub.  Your strategy sort of depends on what quality of seats you are looking for.  Generally, you will do better to buy on the secondary market, and may even be able to find a pair from somebody on this board who can't make the game.

Or, maybe you want the $5 cheapies, in which case you need to get there early day of the game.

Not sure how many family members are going with me.  Will most likely get upper deck seats.  How soon do you have to show up to get the five buck tickets?

You should get there two hours before, but if you miss out, there are still $10 seats.   Do you have kids?  Besides batting practice, you can always turn them loose on the video game arcade (free) or the batting cages/pitching machines ($), or if young kids, the playground area.  Meanwhile, you can adjourn to the Loft for a brewskie while you supervise... ;)

Worth fighting the crowds at the Red Loft? That's where the micobrews are now, right?

It may depend on one's taste, but the good microbrews are in the Red Porch.  The Red Loft is above the Red Porch.

Currently planning on being at all remaining home matches except for those conflicting with my other teams (Capitals playoffs, DC United, Mystics, Redskins) - on the current homestand I'll be missing Friday's (DC United), Saturday's (Caps playoff) and Wednesday's (DC United) matches.

you can't make it out to their series w/ the 'stros?  p.s. how do you like minute maid park?
Nope. I'm never in Houston in July - Houston in July is for people with death wishes ...  :D I have managed to catch three games with the Nationals over the last two years, though. Minute Maid is a fun place, but the food is a crappy rip-off, all the hot Texas blondes are already with their big ugly boyfriends, and the only seat-jumping I can manage with ease is to the outfield seats. I really like the hill in center, because it's funny, but I don't like the giant wall in left, which is kind of like a Green Monster With Holes In It.

I'm all for baseball and playoff hockey, but I think I'd pay to NOT have to go see the Mystics.

I'll be in the Red Porch/Loft a lot tomorrow due to friends and family in different sections. You should be able to guess who I am by my attire. WIN ONE TOMORROW, CRABBY!

Additional hint or two available by PM.

i'll be there tomorrow too with my pops, and we'll most definitely be stopping by the red loft for a drink or two or 12.

:az: I almost almost got tickets for that game too. It's just not a smart move for me right now, too busy.
