i see no reason why dukes should not be a starter, regardless of whether it is  in center or right. does anyone else?

He should start...no question about it.

He's proven himself so far. Only other outfielder who can say that is Dunn.

Dunn has 4 K's and 10 BB's this year. I like that ratio.

When you look at his past season's K/BB ratio it's about 2:1 though. :( I think he will get more this season because pitchers know he is the only one who can hit on this team. :)

he's got to. or Manny could make Dukes the permanent starter in RF since steady Kearns has returned to steadily sucking.

I guarantee Adam Dunn will be the only All-Star Rep the Nationals will have and that is only because of they need a rep and name recognition.

Or trade him :)

I think the more likely scenario is that he replaces Kearns. Manny is an idiot to keep Dukes on the bench.

Fragility is my only concern. He probably just didn't give a crap about ST. Milledge is the weak link.

Guys, we don't have any other third basemen. Yet.

Dunn would have to become the everyday firstbaseman and have a monster season otherwise. Even leading the league in HRs, he won't get the votes as a OFer and certainly not by playing with us.

Dibble almost makes me not want to go to any games this year, he's so good.

I'm gonna start developing a AZ-esque mancrush on him.

It made sense to have him on the bench to start the season. He was completely lost at the plate. Nice to see he's turned it around so quickly. I think Milledge can do the same thing.

And people were jumping all over him during the off season thinking he wasn't going to be entertaining.

That is the only concern when it comes to Dukes. If healthy, he's a great offensive threat.

The only reason to play the other guys is to showcase for a trade. If it was about trying to put the best players out there and the ones likely to be productive pieces for the long term, Dukes would be out there every day. No reason for him not to be. He's the biggest talent they have.
