Don't read the source material or you'll start hating the show.

I doubt I will... at least for awhile anyways. Really though, name one movie/show based on a book that wasn't inferior to the book.

Sure, but the TV show is a total turd compared to the comic.

I wasn't aware. I don't read many comics/graphic novels, but I might check them out just to see the difference. Actually, I haven't read a comic or anything like that since I was a kid.

You know, they did do a really good job on The Green Mile and Misery.

the SNL Christmas episode with Jimmy Fallon & Michael Bubele was really good this past weekend.  Fortunately they didn't just rehash all Fallon's old skits, though they did bring back a ton of older cast members (Dratch, Fey, Poller, Kataan, Morgan, and Horatio Sanz all made appearances).   The skit with Fallon talking to himself (Samberg) in the mirror was really good.

"Terra Nova" might be the biggest sheetsandwich ever.  Horrible, just horrible.

You've got me, I watched 5 minutes of "Terra Nova" and wanted to shoot the TV.  Just a total turd.

Damn dude, that's pretty harsh.  I've watched a couple of non-consecutive eps now when I had nothing better to do, and while it definitely has some cheese, I didn't think it was awful.

It just looked so cheesy.  I was waiting for the traffic from the 405 to show up in the background of one of the shots.

"Terriers" was a great show.  Sad I missed it when it was on the air.

I was a big fan. I think they're still trying to move to another network. That'd be awesome.

Agreed, except the girls were way, way too good looking for the guys they were with. Once I see that, for some reason, it tends to detract from the plot line for me.

It's San Diego - way more hot chicks than straight dudes so I didn't have a problem with them portraying it realistically.  :P

Party Down is an excellent show. I can't believe it was canceled.

I just finished Party Down and am looking for a new show to get into on Netflix. I was deciding between:

30 Rock or Parks and Recreation

which would people prefer I start with?

Parks and Recreation is a good show. I don't like 30 Rock.

It sucks they canceled Party Down, but they kept losing actors to other shows.

I love both. I think 30 rock is strong all the way through while parks and rec takes most of the first season (once rob lowe joins the cast it gets really good) to really settle into a good show, but by the current season, it's one of the best shows on TV

I'll start Parks and Rec. It seems like a show I'd enjoy more than 30 Rock. Plus I like a lot of the actors in Parks and Rec. more than 30 Rock. Too bad Community nor Modern Family are on Instant Queue.

Hulu Plus?

Does it cost money?

I started Parks and Rec. Definitely the right choice to start. I like the cast so far.
