I'm Hellrider84 on PSN, but I have Madden for 360.

PS3 I have Little Big Planet, GT5 Prologue, Orange Box (Half Life) and I think that's it as far as what may be playable online.  I'm not even sure if all of those are online enabled or not.

You've never played a FPS?  MW2 is a good game, but I think it would have been better had I played the first MW game for some of the back story.

I love MGS, I need to play MGS4 again.

go get Battlefield: Bad Company. Call of Duty is constant non-stop action full of douchebags, 12-year olds, and no skill. BC is much more fun, IMO. Bigger maps, the guns are all different, and it requires teamwork (COD doesn't at all).

and BC2 will blow MW2 out of the water. Not to mention BC is only 20 bucks now.

But Call of Duty is still fun to play, don't get me wrong. It can just piss you off beyond belief at the same time when someone runs around carrying dual shotguns and shoots you across the map, only to get a killstreak and then spawn kill you with a chopper gunner.

Are you going for an online game or for the single player?  There should be some demos you can try for free from the playstation store.  I think there is a COD:MW demo but I don't know about MW2.  I don't know if you know about the Playstation Store or not, but there are a lot of free demos.

I've never played Battlefield, does it have a story or is it strictly online deathmatch?

The story, IMO is much better than Call of Duty. In Call of Duty you have to do EVERYTHING yourself. In Battlefield your team actually contributes and the story is set on a group of 4 guys with distinct personalties rather than hopping around from place to place doing random things. First FPS I ever went all the through with.

The online has two modes. Gold Rush, where the defending team has to defend two crates of gold at 5 different bases. The attackers have to destroy the bases in succession (it's one at a time). The other is Conquest, where there are 5 flags on each map, and whoever controls the majority ticks down the other team's "tickets" (lives) until zero.

Call of Duty's online has more gametypes (obviously), more unlocks/challenges/perks, prestige mode, etc. It's really, really deep. But Battlefield has unlocks and everything too. I love it. I haven't touched Call of Duty since I picked up Battlefield again (came out in 08). Call of Duty is just like constant action, no teamwork, no strategy, nothing. Battlefield has bigger maps and each gun feels so much more unique. In COD every gun is identical for the most part.

Plus in Battlefield the environment is fully destructible. For example, if there is a sniper in a building pinning you down, you can shoot a grenade launcher at the window and blow a huge hole in the wall. It's awesome.

I thought MW2 had a cool story.  I liked the parts that you were in DC.

I searched and there is a demo for Battlefield: Bad Company on the PSN Store too, so I'll have to check that out.

I can't remember if the demo for BC is multiplayer or singleplayer. I really love the game. And Call of Duty is a great game, don't get me wrong. But they made the game so that 11 year olds can succeed at it. Cod: WaW and Cod4 actually required skill and actually were good shooters. Call of Duty MW2 is just...I don't know. It's a fun game with tons of re playability but for what I was expecting in terms of being a shooter I am disappointed. But it's a great action game that anyone can play for hours.

I mean, there's a level of "pick up and play" you want with the game. You don't want to make it too hard. But I'm sick of everyone running around using dual shotguns, dual pistols, or no-scoping me across the map even though they never hit me. The game is so frustrating.

Oh, yeah, the online is so easy to die.  I'm not that big into that anyway because it is hard to find friendly people instead of obnoxious jerks.  I am more of an offline / single player guy unless it is a game I am playing with people I actually know online.

I've got 2 PS3's, an Xbox 360, and a Wii.  When I had to get a new TV I took advantage of a deal that gave me a PS3 and a game plus a bluray with the TV.

It sucks having to choose between platforms.  I wish you could just buy a game and have rights to play it on either console.  Like Madden '10.  I got it for 360, but some friends play it on PS3.

Yeah, I hear you about that. It sucked back in the PS2/Xbox days but I think I got alot of my friends to go 360. They should be cross-platform at least for the internet. That'd make it so much cooler.

Yeah, if if even online play was cross platform it would be cool.

On an unrelated note, can someone please explain to me how the hell to pitch in the show!?

I just tried playing the demo and I still can't figure out what the freak I am supposed to do!!!
