Alright, John has settled down and is throwing strikes now.  Good inning, minus the error.

Lannan looking a tad better than that first inning where he couldn't find the strike zone. Lannan isn't good enough to be able to fall behind hitters. They just sit back and wait for the meatballs. The faster Hernandez comes back to play 2B, the better off all our pitchers will be.

Manny can't go with the impatient twins at the top of the order all season, or he'll be sorry.

Not only that...it allowed Nolasco to bat with 2 out, rather than having him lead off the 3rd. Little things like that will kill you.

congrats to Lannan - records his first K, - Lowers his ERA to 9.00. But he's already at 37 pitches after  2 innings. At this rate, will he last 5 innings?

He got a bad jump on the ball, and wasn't quick to it.  I am confident that an average/slightly above average LFer would have caught it, yes.

He broke on the ball incorrectly, but the ball was roped. We know Dunn is not very good defensively, but pitchers have to be responsible for what they are throwing as well.

Right, he needs to stay ahead so he is able to go to slider and curve.  When he falls behind, he just sticks with his fastball.

JESUS!  First hit of the season for the Nats.  He was golfing there for a minute, but hung in there.

FML, Lannan is just as bad at bunting as last year.  Bonifacio read that like a book.
