Livan Hernandez, RHP (2-5, 5.51)
Hernandez has looked strong in his last two outings, going seven innings against both the Orioles and the Cubs. In his most recent outing against Baltimore, Hernandez allowed one run and six hits, throwing 120 pitches ?- 73 for strikes. The 120 pitches were the most he had thrown since delivering 130 in a 2005 start against Philadelphia.

VS.

Brett Tomko, RHP (5-1, 3.21)
Tomko had one of his testiest starts of the season in his previous outing as he bobbed and weaved his way through six innings against the Angels. The fact he surrendered 10 hits wasn't so bad because he didn't walk anyone as 76 of his 106 pitches were strikes. He held the Angels to two hits in 14 at-bats with runners in scoring position.

Bob Dylan does a 1 hour radio show on XM.  This week, his theme was baseball.  The last song of his set?  From the Damn Yankees musical, "Heart"

....we've got heaaaaaaaaart....., we've got heaaaaaaart.....

Those ol' Senators had heart, and I'm thinking our Nats are getting some too.  An omen, me hopes.

Byrd needs to be batting second (and in RF) instead of clayton

And livan just hit that guy 0-2.

Most interesting to me is how it was telegraphed perfectly by the announcers, who knew that Zim was going to get a good pitch to hit right at the moment he smoked it for a two-run double.

Livan's looking excellent - EXCELLENT - after 4 innings. Let's hope he keeps it up.  Wouldn't it be fantastic to have Livo back again?

After 4 innings I know what some people might start to think, but I just want to let everyone know that if you mention it here, I will personally destroy your home planet with my death ray.  So don't!!!
