I am not big on pimping my own site, but I figured folks would be interested to see what Jack McGeary had to say when I spoke with him today (link).   Nothing earth-shattering.

But the fact he's going to pitch the whole season instead of waiting until the end of the quarter and then leaving early is news.  That's good news if you ask me.

It's a little bit of news because McGeary has finally made public what Bowden had already announced (before he was supposed to) back in January, as previously discussed here:

What I take away from all of this is: McGeary's parents want him to get a degree from Stanford. Instead of gravy training off of their son, they are looking out for his best interest. Sure you can play a full season of pro ball, provided that you are on schedule to graduate on time.

He did go to Roxbury Latin, which is the top school academically in Massachusetts, and one of the top schools in the country.

McGeary is somewhat under the radar, which is fairly ironic considering that he could be a top 3 pitcher in our rotation some day.
