Mariners sign The Chief

MLBTR:

Quote
According to Larry Stone of the Seattle Times, the Mariners signed reliever Chad Cordero to a minor league deal.  He picked the right team, as the Ms have perhaps the least-settled closing situation in baseball.

Cordero, 26, had surgery in July to repair a torn labrum and biceps tendon.

Good luck to him.

Does this mean I have to change my name now?

Best of luck to Chad, sucks that things had to end the way they did.

So are you going to be moving in with Erica, Chief? When do you head out? Is the SMFF going to be better than here? I hope not. ;)

He signed for a team that's going to be markedly WORSE than we are, and he's gotta still be hurt.

He is still hurt. No way he is ready for Opening Day. I find it all strange. Why not just wait out the injury, throw some sessions at full power, and sign with at least a half decent team?
