Kobernus 2 for 2 with 2 doubles so far tonight.  Apparently he is not quite as good as Espinosa though.

Now 3 for 3 and batting .353

Doesn't play "elite" defense

Look, if Eury Perez can't get a start over Lombo, Bernadina, or Moore, there's no way in hell Kobernus is going to start over Espi

Right now, people in Seattle are saying "why isn't Nick Franklin playing ahead of Brendan Ryan?"   Teams manage when they add a guy to the 40 man and the 25 man rosters.  It is easier for non-contenders, like Seattle, but it is not unusual for contenders too.  Des Jennings says hello. You may not see Rendon again until July in order to avoid Super 2.

Juan pierre managed to hit a career .296 as a slap hitter,  Ichiro in his prime managed to hit .372 with only 8 homers - speed can sustain a decent average

Note - I broke out the discussion of Espi's "elite" defense and put it in the Clubhouse Espinosa active thread.  starts around reply #463 and goes forward, with the FTP Kobernus title kept.  Nice stuff by Slate and others.
