also,  *chuckle* at the little tidbit Whimpee dropped about the article in the Cincy newspaper.
What article is that?

dunno, I'm gonna find it.

he said there was an article in a Cincy Paper blaming The Trade(you know..the one where the Reds supposedly Fleeced us, if you ask the Reds fans)for the Collapse of the Reds.

Prior to the start of tonight's game, the Braves chances of making the playoffs were 0.22932, per Pecota, a statistical group that ran a Monte Carlo simulation to determine the odds of various teams making the playoffs.

They ran the simulation 1,000,000 times, and summarized the output in percentage terms.

I would like to see us put them at 0.0000000000000000000000000000000000000 000000000000% tonight!

Oh I agree with that article.  Jimbo did good on that particular trade deal.

Greetings all.  Nice night for a game.  The Gameday tracker is seemingly on the fritz; can someone tell me whether Zimmerman hit his way onto the basepaths, or whether he was walked?

Soriano and Lopez are completely baffled by James.  They are missing 85 mph fastballs and chasing changeups well in the dirt

Perez has only 1 hit allowed through 5 innings.  He is a heck of alot better than the 3 Awful A's (Astacio, Armas, Ortiz) even though this is his 1st start.

Aww...folks, I'm blushing here.  Been busy with moving into a new apartment in Chicago, as well as on-campus interviewing with tons of lawfirms for my summer job next year. (Any lawyers lurking around here who want to hook me up with a job in DC or Chicago?  I've got a pretty decent pedigree, and lord knows I can talk baseball at the very least!)  I've been checking out the forum pretty regularly, but haven't had time to post.

By the way, can anybody tell me if Zimmerman actually got a HIT in his earlier at-bat?  He's been slumping lately, so I'd love to seem him come out of it.
