Rockies are interested in Brian Lawrence

From the Denver Post:

Colorado has attended all of free-agent pitcher Brian Lawrence's workouts, including a private session viewed by assistant general manager Bill Geivett and special assistant Marcel Lachemann. "He has made it clear to them he would like to pitch there. His preference is to stay in the NL West," agent Page Odle said.

How much? How long?

In a reasonable market it would be one year 2-3 mil max.

He might get 3/12 or 15 if he wants it.  He might just go for a one year then prove himself to make more

I'm really disappointed we didn't keep this guy.  He is a solid innings-eater, and would stabilize our rotation.  Too bad he never pitched an inning.

Yeah it does suck. We could use him, or an Esteban Loaiza type guy really really badly next year. But what the hell, its going to be alot of fun because we should get to see some of our young guns take the mound for us on a fifth day basis. I'm really excited for next year. Especially since the Rangers (New York) are sucking @$$ right now.

Right now? They always suck :P

Next year is gonna be really fun, even when we're losing more often than not. Watching young players give their ass every game to try to stay up on the team is awesome. I just hope the team, and manager, show some emotion and build as a team.

Aw thats a cheap shot. Do I have to bring back the Malik capital punishment again? Nah I didn't think so.

As for your second point, I agree 100% watching the young kids get a shot is always fun as hell to watch.

I appear to be way off...for now anyway

With the Padres offering only a minor-league deal to Brian Lawrence, Colorado still has a chance to sign the right-hander.
