Not trying to troll because I think most Diablo fans probably enjoy or would enjoy the Torchlight series as well, but Torchlight II is available now for pre-order on Steam for $19.99 ( )

http://store.steampowered.com/app/200710/

Main difference that I know of from the first game is that it now includes multiplayer, but I'm sure there are other differences as well

Also you get a free copy of the first game if you pre-order II.

"Francis" is a character for those that don't know, that's not how this guy acts all the time

Francis is, however, a level 14 dewmancer.

When is it due out?  I have the first one but haven't played that much since I'm all about the multi player.  The only bad thing is that I'd have no interest in playing it while I was playing Diablo III.  It's too bad they couldn't have got something out a good deal of time before D3 to get some business.  If its any time near the D3 launch I think they'll get less interest than if otherwise.

The D3 beta is over, now I gotta wait 15 days to play again :'(

Torchlight II was originally supposed to launch well ahead of D3, but I guess they ran into some crap.  The pre-order page says "mid-summer" launch, so that ought to give the D3 hype some time to settle a bit.  I expect I'll end up playing plenty of both, but it's a good problem to have.

Yeah I'll probably play it at some point when I get tired of D3.  It looks like you can gift the Torchlight 1 freebie if you already have it, so I'll probably preorder and gift the other to someone.

Anyone want Torchlight 1?

I am tempted enough to download the demo that is out now. I am a bit surprised the controls look so much like Diablo.

Torchlight?  It was developed by a bunch of ex-Diablo devs.

Yep.  Pretty much all the lead guys from D2.

Obed are you referring to the Torchlight 1 demo?  If there's a demo out for T2, it's news to me.

If you like the demo I'll be happy to gift you my freebie since I'll be pre-ordering.  Or Nathan can give you his if he wants.

Chief was kind enough to give me a copy. Enjoyable game. I am surprised no one has spoken up yet.

Welp, since no one is interested in a free game, I guess I'll just give it away on reddit or something.

I would try it but I have zero time in the next couple of weeks. Plus, once I'm done with exams I am going straight to DIII.
