Edwin??? THAT Edwin Jackson? He's alive? Next, Smithian, you'll tell me that Backsik (sp??) is some team's closer. Wow.

I liked Edwin as a Nat. I know he had issues, but he was likeable (to me, anyways). I'm also the resident Desmond lover.

(Image removed from quote.)

 Props  to Storen. So far I only remember one or two appearances that were of his usual, stressful caliber. He's been great so far.

Won't mean too much until he has a good postseason, but still a nice year so far. Janssen was awesome. Nice job Espinosa. Good win.
Of course it means something. He doesn't do it there is no postseason

But if he does it and craps the bed, what good is the postseason? And that's assuming another pitcher can't do his job well. That's just not even close to reasonable.

If he does do well in the postseason he earns back a lot of points for me, but until then, it's all just foreplay. And some nights foreplay doesn't cut it.

In that case take off 4 months and come back. Why watch the games?

The same reason why I ask people who watch the regular season and get pissed off at the postseason results. Why watch the games? The Nats already proved they were the best regular season team, and that's clearly most important to you. Who cares? Yeah, they lost 4-1, but small sample size. Isn't the regular season enough?

Shoot your dicksneeze into another napkin, you're not being clever or better, just dumb. Storen's been crap in the playoffs, the Nats too, but not always as much so. If you think everyone watches the games to win, we'd all be at www.sfgf.net right now and you wouldn't be espousing this dumb crap.

You'd almost think that long-term results matter more, and that perceptions can change, but god forbid those change until after those illusions are shattered.

I wasn't being snarky I was asking a legitimate question. the fact that you took my response as meaning I only care about regular season shows that my question to you has even more merit.  If seeing Storen have long term success as a closer means nothing till postseason then why watch because you are learning nothing new in your eyes. I didn't say you watch to win by what you said nothing is to be learned by watching now.  I was trying to get at the bottom of everytime Drew has success why do people automatically say doesn't mean anything till the playoffs not picking or passively aggressively trying to needle you.

Max Scherzer's batting average is .200. Opponents are hitting .198 against him.

Bacsik is now a colour commentator on Fox Sports Southwest; his 2007 season at the Nationals was his last in the majors - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Bacsik_(left-handed_pitcher)

OMG, we are only one game behind the 2012 team !!!!!
I didn't think we would come close at the 20 game mark.
And twice as good as the 2009 team

STFU Bob!

lol wtf was that bob

Jinx. Watch us lose now.

Could it possibly be that the jinx fairy isn't quite as powerful as she is often given credit for?

I shudder to think what kind of world we live in if some weenie typing on a fan forum, or a fan in the seats, or an announcer in the booth speaking the magic jinx words should somehow fail to effect change in the outcome.
