The second time through isn't starting much better.

Fairly impressed with both pitchers in this game, although especially Cosart. Rendon's defense is looking good, and so are Zimmerman's sidearm throws.

This looks like it's their first day in camp.

No kidding...a $12MM, 7 hole-hitting, gold glove 1st baseman can't pick a lazy ground ball...

What did I tell you all about this lineup?  Hmmm?  Practially no hit by Verlander and now this today against the Stros.  Bullpen will be mediocre, SP might be okay but there will be a major injury and one or two of the guys will not acheieve at a level we hope for.

That little run we made at the end of last year was the worst thing that could've happened (at least assuming that they would have made more significant hcanges had it not occuredd...which is speculative i suppose).

The Braves have been dealt a devastating blow but they'll still be better than us.  They'll win the east with wins in the low 90s and we'll finish with between 84 and 88. No wild card.

I'm telling you again now, don't get your hopes up on this team.

You may now commence with the "its only spring training these games don't mean anything!!!"  hahaha  joke will be on you!

Seems like our starting lineup has been sputtering a lot lately. Hopefully not a sign of things to come and a repeat of last year's offense.

Oh, that's EXACTLY  what it is.  The offense isn't sputtering....this is what it is.  We've overestimated ourselves for the second year in a row and did not address the problem.

Why would I do that?  I'm spot on about this offense.  Dude, I HATE it.....but after last year I'm not going to blow smoke up me own arse.  I'm being objective, and its not a good look for this team.  See you in July when everyone here is wailing and grinding their teeth and we're 2-8 or so against the Barves.

if that means spring training numbers matter, better size up Souza and Walters for their plaques in Cooperstown

Well Soriano didn't allow 5 runs so there's that.
