I hope he doesn't, but I fear he will. I bet he signed with them to get back at us for not needing him.

I bet he signed for the paycheck he'll be earning...

Yeah that too. But if you think playing the nats didn't factor in.... I believe he should have gotten a few offers.

Why would he sign up to pitch in that park?  He would have done better in San Diego or somewhere like that.  If he wanted to stay in the NL East, Miami would have made more sense.

At least he will still be a Barves-killer with the Phils.

Forget Lannan. He went to the Phillies. He may have done what is best for him, but I wouldn't congratulate any Redskin going to the Cowboys either.

Pitching for them beats getting lit up by them.

Lannan is really a solid innings eater.  Any team (Pittsburgh, San Diego, etc.) would benefit him.  I always liked that he kept you in games regardless of the outcome.   It sucks he signed with Philadelphia, but at least he gets a fair chance.  He didn't fit into a great rotation, I have no qualms with that.

he's um, uh, a #4-5 starter.

The issue here is that for a few years we tried to make him our #1 because we had nobody else, and he's not a #1.

1 year, $2.5 million with $2.5 in incentive.  So basically AAA paid better than starting for the Phillies. :)

East Coast, close to his family. I don't think any other east coast team would have offered him as much

If Lannan has a poor start to the 2013 season he will be booed out of Philly. They already hate him for the Utley incident in 2007. I remember a death threat on the Nats board back then.

I never said he was an ace.  I said he eats innings.  That's all.  He is a useful four or five starter.

If he's wearing a Phillies uniform, I will boo him. Any other team I would have given him the doubt.

Warmly.  He's a good pitcher, a good teammate, a good guy.
