Great Music Venue
« Topic Start: January 21, 2012, 10:47:07 AM »
We went to a new music venue last night at McPherson Square called the Hamilton.  It's an old Woodie's store converted into a restaurant and a music club in the basement.  Generally, it's like the Birchmere, but the food is much better.  We saw Tom Principato, a great blues artist.  Tonight, Marcus Johnson, a jazz pianst, will be playing.  The Hamilton has a variety of different performers coming, including Chubby Checker on Valentine's day.

I've seen Principato a number of times in what was known as the Quarterdeck Lounge, upstairs of the Wharf restaurant in Old Town.  Tiny place, stone walls made for loud and live accoustics, $2 cover.  Principato could really rock.

Sigh, the good ol' days.
