And RIGHT there was exactly what I was talking about with Dunn. How exactly did that walk help his team? It was meaningless and irrelevant.

yep. getting on base is meaningless and irrelevant.

Great job by Balester. More runs!
It didn't right there, but that's another run on the board if someone hits a homer or a good hit into a gap.

Still, that'd kind of suck.  I'm almost hoping they don't sign Crow and get someone better next year, though.  I really, really don't trust his mechanics.  I'm afraid he's going to blow out his arm.

I think he could stay healthy, but I have a feeling they'd end up trying to turn him into another K-Rod.

Got a man on base. You can say that about any walk. I agree with how useless 79 walks are but hes on base and someone else can try to drive him in. Like i said last night, id like him on our team playing first just becasue hed be the best bat on our team, according to this year at least.

I think Balester will only be able to go six.

He is at 64 through 4 innings, 16 pitches/inning.  My guess is that he will go six and some change

Meh.  I don't care how phenomenal he is, I'd rather not have a close with a top 10 pick.

We better sign Hicks and Espinosa at a minimum though. Nieto would be nice too. We only get compensatory picks for the first 3 round picks right?

I think he's going to get near 100 after 6 and be done, but I guess it really depends on the batting order.

Is this expected to be a talented draft class? Usually any of the top 10 guys are great. If we get #2,3, or 4 and #10, we'd still make out pretty well.

I agree.

And you blame Dunn for that? :?  What would you say if he swung at some of those pitches out of the strike zone? Dude this isn't tennis.

It is all over. I did not lose any argument. I was just commenting on something that further proved my point.

Maybe they could do the Joba w/ him to get him in the bigs sooner and then switch him over to the rotation. Blah. We're probably not going to sign him anyways. :?

Correct, first two rounds get the previous selection slot +1, while third round you get a sandwich pick b/w 3rd and 4th.

I kind of like the fact that teams have a little something to fall back on. It's freaked up that the agents have so much leverage.

OK. Dunn's a bad outfielder and all, but after seeing the replay, that was one crazy hop earlier.

Crow needs to realize that he won't get drafted any higher next year, so he needs to sign now. Unfortunately, he still probably won't.

Crow is a moron if he doesn't sign. How many teams will draft you, and give you a shot to make the ML roster within a year?

Patterson should have struck out there on a perfect pitch. I hate when hitters get rewarded for taking pitches right down the middle that the umps call a ball.

I dont know if that was a "great throw" it looked more like a lob than a bullet from Nieves

Keppinger would be a great player to have on your team. Perfect #2 hitter.
